IT is a very essential requirement for all companies in
today’s date. Be it retail, banking or entertainment every sector needs some
amount of technological aid today for smooth functioning. But any sector other
than the IT does not need a full time IT workforce. That is why a number of
companies today are opting for temp IT staffing.
IT is an absolutely knowledge based industry and the people
working in it have high level of proficiency in the subject. As a subject again
IT has a number of segments and it is not possible for a single IT professional
to specialize in all of them. In fact not even an IT firm has got all the
departments. Now, the other sectors also have their separate sets of
specialization and need to hire employees according to that. Also their need
for IT services arises only when they need to implement any new software or any
problem takes place with the old one or if any training program is needed.
So their requirements are for the time being and project
based and they do not need the services after it is over. Thus hiring a full
time IT person or IT team under their regular payroll will be wastage of
resources. Also the companies do not have the same requirements all the time.
If they want to fulfill all the needs through their permanent employees they
need to hire a whole IT firm.
Even though many IT companies creates products that are
universally used but mainly it is a service based industry which caters to
various sectors and it is convenient for them to hire a big team that gets
involved into the next company’s project as soon as they are over with the
previous. Paying them for temp IT staffing is a way of optimum utilization of
resources in the context of IT requirements.
